Gabriel C. Vine (MD, DC & PA*)
Gabriel C. Vine received a B.A. in political science from Fresno State University and his Jurist Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law.  

Mr. Vine is licensed to practice in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.
                                           
Mr. Vine began his legal career by working as an Assistant District Attorney for Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office where he handled DWI/DUI, possession of illegal substances and other cases.  He later joined Jacobs, Abod, and Caruso, LLC as an associate. While with Jacobs, Abod, and Caruso, LLC, Mr. Vine's case load included contacts, agreements, and general business cases.  He then started his own practice as a partner in Vine & Partamian, LLC in 2002. Since then, his cases flow has broadened to include most areas of litigation, including: criminal law (primarily DUI/DWI), immigration and naturalization, personal injury, and family law. Mr. Vine is also a principal in NorthStar Title and Escrow, LLC and can handle all your real estate needs, including settlements, representing buyers, advising and drafting sales contracts and litigating real estates disputes.

He is a member:

Mr. Vine is also fluent in Romanian and conversant in Spanish.

Of Counsel

Of counsel, in our case, is the title of an attorney who is employed by the law firm, but is not an associate or a partner. According to ABA Formal Opinion 90-357 the term "of counsel" is to describe "a close, regular, personal relationship." The attorneys listed below are "Of Counsel" attorneys of Vine Law Firm, LLC. They may also be employed by other firms or in their own practices.

 

Aaron Caruso (MD, VA & DC) of counsel
A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Maryland, Aaron R. Caruso is an of counsel attorney for Vine Law Firm, LLC. Mr. Caruso is primarily responsible for VA traffic, criminal, and family law matters. He has successfully represented clients in alcohol related arrests (DUI/DWI), speeding, reckless driving, traffic, and criminal charges. Additionally, Mr. Caruso has represented many clients in family law courts in matters involving divorce, custody, child support, alimony, property distribution, and child neglect.

He is a member of the Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church. Mr. Caruso is a member of the Montgomery County and MD State Bar Associations and the District of Columbia Bar Association, VA State Bar and all federal courts and 4th Circuit. Mr. Caruso is licensed to practice in US District Court of DC and MD, all courts in MD, and the Superior Court of MD, DC and VA.

He received his Bachelor of Art Degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland at College Park and his Jurist Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in Los Angeles, California in 1990. Mr. Caruso has been practicing since 1990. He clerked in the PG county District court, then Circuit Court for the
The Honorable Larnzell. In 1991, he became an Associate with VAW, and since 1994 he has been a partner of Abod and Caruso, LLC.

 

Lawrence S. Jacobs (MD, VA & DC) of counsel
Lawrence (Larry) Jacobs has 35 years’ experience representing local businesses in a wide range of matters, including business transactions, contracts and employment law. He is frequently asked to consult on management and marketing issues and has acquired a reputation as an excellent problem-solver. Mr. Jacobs has been an of counsel attorney for Vine Law Firm, LLC, since 2009.

As a natural outgrowth of meeting the needs of business owners, and in order to better serve the needs of his individual clients, Larry expanded his practice to include estate planning. Over the last 15 years, he has helped hundreds of couples and singles protect their families and control the disposition of their assets through carefully-crafted documents.

A longtime advocate for civil rights, Larry was in appointed to the Montgomery County Human Relations commission in 1995 and became Chair of the Commission in 2000. Passionately interested in the well-being of students, he co-founded the Safe Schools Coalition of Montgomery County in 1995. He was a Board member and the past president of Equality Maryland. He currently serves on the Board of Hearts and Homes for Youth.

Larry is also a licensed real estate broker in Maryland. He has lived in many different areas of Montgomery County during the last 37 years. Besides serving as of counsel to Vine Law Firm, LLC, he is the managing partner of Jacobs & Associates P.C.

 

Jonathan Lanyi (MD & DC) of counsel
Jonathan Lanyi joined Jacobs and Associates P.C., as an associate in 2008. He joined Vine Law Firm, LLC as of counsel in 2009. He is a member of the Maryland and D.C. Bars and is admitted to the United States Tax Court. Jonathan practices in the areas of commercial litigation and commercial collection. During his time with our firm, he has been extremely effective by being persistent. He possesses a natural ability to negotiate and to win favorable terms for our clients. Jonathan also assists in our estate planning practice with legal research in the area of domestic partnerships, medicare trusts and taxation.

Jonathan has significant experience in the area of taxation. He frequently serves as a consultant to Casa de Maryland where he provides immigration as well as international tax advice for their staff and volunteers. In addition, Jonathan serves as a volunteer attorney for the Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Service representing low income residents of Baltimore in tax controversy matters.

Jonathan earned his law degree from Syracuse University. He also attended University of Virginia's McIntire Business Institute and earned a Certificate of Business. Jonathan attended the George Washington University for his undergraduate studies and has a Bachelors of Arts in International Affairs and a minor in Economics. He speaks, reads and writes Spanish proficiently and is active in the Spanish-speaking community.
